Willoughby Symphony Orchestra: Songs of Destiny
Hear the next generation of classical music when Willoughby Symphony Orchestra unveils the winner of the Young Composer Award in this exciting concert conducted by Associate Conductor Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith.
WSO performs the new work by one of Australia’s rising stars alongside Alla Pavlova’s lush Monolog – featuring WSO Concertmaster Maria Lindsay – and Johannes Brahms’ choral masterpieces Schicksalslied (Song of Destiny), and Gesang der Parzen (Song of the Fates), with the Willoughby Symphony Choir and River City Voices. Enchanting selections from Bedřich Smetana’s Má vlast (My Country) round out this wonderful concert.
Please note: Due to a program change, there is no Songs of Destiny performance on Saturday 14 May at 7pm, as previously advertised. Contact The Concourse Box Office for any enquiries.
