Phoenix Collective Sunday Sessions - The Juliet Letters
"Exquisite translucence" - Limelight Magazine
Phoenix Collective is a dynamic ensemble showcasing classical music with a uniquely Australian edge. Bringing together some of Australia’s most accomplished musicians, the exclusive Phoenix Collective Sunday Sessions will feature the work of award-winning contemporary and classical composers from Elvis Costello to Steve Reich, in the intimacy of the Zenith Theatre.
Featuring tenor and one of Australia’s most in-demand choral specialists Dan Walker, The Juliet Letters is a song sequence for string quartet which marries chamber music with Beatles-esque art-pop. Inspired by the true story of a Verona professor who responded to letters addressed to Juliet, of Romeo and Juliet fame.
