An exhibition celebrating International Day of People with Disability 2021.

Now in its third year, Willoughby City Council is putting on an art competition and exhibition for people living with a disability, experiencing social isolation or at risk of marginalization. The Connect, Collaborate, Celebrate - Art Competition and Exhibition 2021 provides artists with an opportunity to showcase their creative talent and promote themselves and their artworks.

Join us as we present these artworks with the theme Connect, Collaborate, Celebrate.

Artists of all abilities are encouraged to submit a work.

Guest Judge - Sarah Fitzgerald

Sarah Fitzgerald is a Sydney based artist with a Master’s in Fine Arts from the National Art School in Sydney.

She has exhibited regularly in Australia and more recently in France, where she held a solo exhibition at Factory 49 Paris.

In 2015, she was a finalist in Sculpture by the Sea at Bondi and more recently in Les Sculpture Refusee at the Quarantine station in Manly. She was also included in the curated exhibitions Intersections at Incinerator Art Space and Retracing her in The Art Space on The Concourse.

Her art practice is interdisciplinary and includes painting, sculpture, drawing and large-scale installation. Sarah is interested in contemporary issues of place and identity and the role different types of structures such as language, architecture, and urbanization affect the way we live and communicate with each other.
