Ladies in Cheongsam

9 February

Chatswood Mall Market

The cheongsam, also known as a qipao, is a traditional dress for Chinese women. The ladies in cheongsam often hold feather fans in their hands and perform to beautiful classical music. The outfit embodies the gentleness and elegance of oriental women.

"Spring to Xiangjiang" is a famous bamboo flute song written by Mr. Ning Baosheng in 1976. Another zither player, Wang Zhongshan, adapted it. Since its inception, with its distinctive Hunan flower drum music features, sometimes passionate, sometimes smooth and elegant. The music shows the beautiful spring on both sides of the Xiangjiang River and the people's great ambition and pride to build their homes.
