Slow PHO: the re-discovery of slow photography

Tuesday - Sunday, 11am - 5pm (Extended Hours)

An exhibition of hand crafted photography by Lyn Arnold, John Bardell, Susan Buchanan & Carolyn Pettigrew

Slow PHO is a counter point to the postmodern, instant gratification of super sharp digital image making. The exhibition showcases a range of images, produced using nineteenth and early twentieth century photographic printing techniques, such as salt, cyanotype, Van Dyke Brown, gum bi-chromate, platinum palladium, bromoil and with a nod to the modern-intaglio photopolymer. This is slow, handcrafted picture making. Each print reflects the soft magic of light sensitive chemistry laid out on watercolour art papers and silver gelatine paper.

Artists: Lyn Arnold, John Bardell, Susan Buchanan and Carolyn Pettigrew

OPENING EVENT:  3.00pm – 5.00pm, Sunday, 10 November
